日本語は下記・Today, on Feb 9, Temple University, Japan Campus is excited to formally announce the establishment of a new satellite campus in Kyoto starting January 2025. This campus will provide a liberal arts experience in a multi-building complex on Seibo Jogakuin’s campus, just a 12-minute walk from the renowned Fushimi Inari shrine. In partnership with Seibo Jogakuin, TUJ aims to play a critical role in advancing international education and bulding bridges acrosses cultures in Kyoto – one of the world’s “Best Big City”, the ancient capital of Japan, and center of traditional Japanese culture. With this development, TUJ and Temple students will have access to Temple’s campuses in Tokyo, Philadelphia, Rome, and now, Kyoto. We are grateful for the support and attendance of Kyoto Prefecture Governor Takatoshi Nishiwaki, Kyoto City Mayor Daisaku Kadokawa, U.S. Consul General Jason R. Cubas at this momentous occassion. 日本語は下記・Tokyo's Kifune Shrine enshrines Takaokami-no-Kami (高龗神), the god of water. ⁠⁠Every June, during rainy season, the shrine holds a Matsuri (祭り) festival for rainmaking, bountiful harvests, and protection against water disasters. ⁠⁠This year, TUJ Owls had the opportunity to take part in the main event—a Mikoshi procession where they carried a shrine through town to the cheers of "Wasshoi!". ⁠東京の貴船神社は、水の神である高龗神（たかおかみのかみ）を祀っています。そして毎年6月の梅雨の時期には、雨乞い、五穀豊穣、水難除けを祈願する祭りが行われます。今年、TUJのアウル(学生)たちはそのメインイベントである神輿渡御に参加し、「わっしょい！」の歓声の中、神輿を担いで町を練り歩きました。⁠Photography by Christian Mercado.⁠#貴船神社例大祭 #祭り #品川区 #matsuri #Japanesefestivals #shinagawa
