Don’t leave the pups off the list– make some of our Holiday Puppy Dog Biscuits Recipe!

It’s no secret that we love our pups! They even have their own page on our blog! If you’d like see more pictures of them through the years then be sure to click over and check it out– OUR PUPS!

Homemade dog treats are very simple to make and WAYYY less expensive than the kind you buy at the pet store! Oh my. I was looking at them the other day, and the gourmet dog biscuits were even more expensive than the cookies I buy in pastry shops! That’s so crazy to me! So, I called my BFF, Carol, and she sent me a copy of her daughter’s (who is currently in vet school) favorite dog treat recipe and all of our dogs totally LOVED them! Puppies Approved! 🙂

Jack & Lila

Holiday Puppy Dog Biscuits Recipe (3)

We adopted Jack when he was 9 months old and he will turn 13 years in March (that’s 91 in human years!) When he was young he loved to run long distances with me (Ruthie) he’s run many half marathon distances in his life. Now, that he’s a grandpa he still gets over-the-moon excited to go for his walks! He’s a good dog and has watched over our family for so many years, it’s very strange to think that we probably only have a few more years left with him.

Miss Lila is only 8 pounds and she totally runs everyones life! OMG, this lil’ girl has enough spunk for 10 dogs. Hahaha. REALLY. She’s 7 years old and her fur is silky soft. Oh and she’s completely addicted to licking. . . her toys, people, and even her own paws. She loves to lay in the sunshine and will only eat her food after Jack has attempted to eat it for her. She’s a funny and fun-loving part of our family! 🙂 I love when Jack and Lila cuddle up together in front of the fire place.

Nia & Bella

After getting married, I just had to have dogs! Growing up with two dogs was so amazing for me (Madeliene). I kept telling my husband that I really wanted a small dog and a big dog just like Jack and Lila! My husband had always wanted a husky and had never been able to get one. Sooo… we made a little compromise. We could have two dogs, one little and one big, if the big one was a husky. 🙂 We were searching for a husky, and actually ended up getting Bella first! We then found Nia two months later and our little dog family was complete.

Nia is soooo very smart. She’s also a sweetheart and extremely intuitive! She went into nesting mode when I was about to have Carter and we all thought she was pregnant because of how she was acting, although she had shown no other signs of being pregnant. Two days later, I had Carter! I didn’t use the “nest” of blankets that Nia pulled around and made for me by the side of my bed; however, I did appreciate her kind gesture. 🙂

Bella is a Pomeranian sh*tzu and Lila is a Maltese sh*tzu. Bella is about 15 pounds now and we’ve had her ever since she was 8 weeks old. Lila was SO jealous of her when they first met and it took Lila quite a long time to be okay with having Bella around some of the time. Funny fact about Lila… if I’m around, she is with me and no one else. She loves me tons and I love her! Bella would rather be with my mom if she is around!! Too funny. Pups will be pups. 🙂

I personally love that my babies are growing up with dogs. It makes my heart so happy! Here are some more fun every day pics of our fur babies!! 🙂
