Channel Islands National Park
Channel Islands National Park includes five islands off the Santa Barbara coast - Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and Santa Barbara. They are the home to more than 2,000 species of plants and animals. Of those, 145 species are found nowhere else in the world.
The islands provide a remarkable place to camp, hike, snorkel, kayak, birdwatch, draw or paint, photograph, and explore. The voyage to the islands generally takes about an hour, making it a great day trip. For overnighters, campgrounds are found on all the islands. Among the many highlights of the islands are Inspiration Point and the sea caves on Anacapa Island, Cavern Point on Santa Cruz Island, and Point Bennett on San Miguel Island.
