You crawled into my bed
Like some sort of giant insect
And I found myself spellbound
At the sight of you there

Cocooned in my room,
Beautiful and grotesque and all the rest of that bug stuff
Bluffing your way into my mouth
Behind my teeth, reaching for my scars

That night we got kicked out of two bars
And laughed our way home

That night you leaned over
And threw up into your hair
And I thought
I would offer you my pulse

If I thought it would be useful
I would give you my breath
Except
The problem with death is that you have

Some hundred years and then they can
Build building on your only bones
100 years and then your grave is not your own
We lie in out beds, and our graves

Unable to save ourselves from
The quaint tragedies we invent
And then undo from the stupid circ*mstances
We slalomed through

And I realized that night that the hall light
Which seemed so bright when you turned it on is nothing
Compared to the dawn
Which is nothing, compared to the light

Which seeps from me while you're sleeping
Cocooned in my room
Beautiful and grotesque resting
That night we got kicked out of two bars

And laughed our way home
And I held you there thinking

I would offer you my pulse
I would give you my breath
I would offer you my pulse

wow oh wow oh wow... this songs overwhelms me with unexplainable emotion.

we lie in out beds, and our gravesunable to save ourselves fromthe quaint tragedies we invent

I find it remarkable that a human being can not only write such an extraordinary song, but how amazing it is that we allow this music to cut into our soul and leave us breathless... we are all so lucky to be able to listen and FEEL the music!

that feeling of loving someone so completely, you would give them everything in a second... it ties into the musings about the point of life in that you start to think that yes, we'll all be gone someday, but as long as that person is there with you none of it matters and this has to be eternal.

This is the most beautiful and loving song I've ever heard. It says all the things you want to tell your other half, but could never put into words yourself.

My husband and I have parts of it engraved on our wedding rings.

An incredible song. It's that feeling of overwhelming love for someone else, that they take priority over you, that you would give them everything in order to thank them for simply being there.

"the problem with death is that you havesome hundred years and then they canbuild building on your only bones100 years and then your grave is not your own"

I think here she's saying that even death itself is impermanent, let alone life, so you have to take love when you find it and give it absolutely everything, because that's the point of life.

Every time I listen to Ani "i found myself spellbound at the sight of her, so beautiful and grotesque"- I just can't imagine my life without her music, definetely she is one of the few people truly in Resistance, against the "quaint tragedies we invent", against the sistem and the vacuity of the life offered to us... This song is perfect... for my is as good as been in love with someone and held him, or her, while throwing into their hair, as good as wanting to offer my pulse and give my breath to someone...

"We lie in our beds, in our gravesUnable to save ourselvesFrom the quaint tragedies we invent and undoFrom the stupid circ*mstances we slalom through."

At the end of the day, we're all the same. We wake up each morning, dodge various obstacles in this monotonous existence we call life; Everything seems so urgent and large at the time, when really we can't do anything about it, and it's actually all so small.

And of course, the love and all of that. The potentially dangerous, potentially grand, all-being-encompassing sort of love.

I adore this song, and the lyrics as well.

Cannibal RedHook Frontwoman Emmy Mack had this to say about the track; "I wanted to write a song that felt like Nine Inch Nails meets ‘WAP’. An empowering metal anthem that would help me smash some of the stigma and shame around sex that I felt for a long time after surviving SA. Consensual sex is one of the most awesome things in the world! And we’re beyond grateful to the legends in Alpha Wolf for backing this vision, for helping us inject more sexual liberation into the world of heavy music, and above all, for conspiring with us to create a horny metal song about oral sex that people can f*ck to." Spirit Within Bertoldi Brothers Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards. Battle Royale Word Alive, The This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together. Light Up The Sky Van Halen The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it. Cajun Girl Little Feat Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
