- Most Florida-founded Am Law firms grew their office spaces or kept them intact.
- Akerman was the only firm to significantly reduce its office space amid the firm's push for a more national and hybrid footprint.
- Although some firms have taken on less space to fit a more hybrid model, most firms in Florida seem to be growing footprints.
While most Florida-foundedAm Law firms increased office footprints in 2023, Akerman reduced it by more than 23%.
The firm was at 527,000 square feet of total office space in 2023 from 667,000 in 2022, according to ALM survey data. Meanwhile, Greenberg Traurig has seemingly kept its square footage intact while Holland & Knight only increased its footprint by about 50,000 square feet, despite absorbing Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis’ offices after their merger last year.
